Counselling offers you a safe, confidential place to talk about your life and anything that may be confusing, painful or uncomfortable. It allows you to talk with a professionally Qualified Counsellor/Therapist, who can help you to speak about and face your emotions and enable you to achieve clarity and gain a better understanding of yourself. This personal insight is invaluable in terms of changing the way we think about ourselves, the way we experience life and the relationships we have with others.
Individuals choose to meet with a Therapist because they are experiencing difficulties and distress in their lives. Sometimes an individual (adult or young person) can have the most supportive family and friends, but find it difficult to explain why, for example, they may be feeling anxious or depressed. It may be easier to talk about personal, family or relationship issues with a person who is independent of friends and family. It sometimes can be that the stresses and pressures of life just seem to bear down on us, causing a general feeling of not being oneself and it can help to have a professional and confidential space in which to explore these feelings.
Counselling aims to help you deal with and overcome issues that are causing emotional pain or making you feel uncomfortable. The benefits may not always be seen straight away, depending on the difficulty presented. Counselling can be a journey and it may take a few sessions before it starts to make a difference. You will be warmly welcomed and supported throughout the Counselling process so that you may reach a positive solution.
Payment and Feesp
My fees are £45 for an individual session (sessions are 50 minutes), £60 for a couple/family, £35for a student Counsellor.
Sessions are payable at the end of each session via cash or if you wish to pay by bank transfer I ask that this takes place before our session is due.
If you miss a session, you will be charged. This is because your regular appointment time is reserved for you and no-one else. The exception to this will be during an agreed holiday period (whether it be on behalf of the Client or Counsellor), in this case fees will not be charged and notice of at least four weeks is required.
